“As a Director here at Dothan Country Club, I get to see more of the workings of the Club than most as well as, cross paths with employees of all levels. I have to say that we have a wonderful group of dedicated employees. Additionally, we have a supportive Board of Directors that give excellent direction and support to the employees. I have worked a number of clubs and Dothan Country Club is a cut above. Great property, great staff, great management!”
Dave Dale, Fitness/Wellness Director
“After retirement, I have started a new career with the Dothan Country Club. My time here has been a pure joy. I could not ask for better associates to work with and have been welcomed and made to feel at home by all the membership. I am looking forward to many years to come.”
Peggy Howland, Golf Shop Clerk
“From the serendipitous beginning nearly 3 ½ years ago to the present, I have the best job in North America. From the warmth and friendliness of the members to the cordiality of the staff, I feel like I’ve become a member of one big family. The longevity of the employees is a testament to what a singularly pleasant place Dothan Country Club is to work. ”
Larry Morris, Golf Shop Clerk
"The members are the greatest assets of the Dothan Country Club. It is one of the largest reasons I enjoy working here each day
towards expanding the game of golf. The Dothan Country Club has a vested interest
in not only making golf enjoyable for seasoned players, but inspiring young
players to become active and to excel in a new sport."
John Fountain, Assistant Golf Pro
"Even though I have only been at the Dothan Country Club in the Tennis Shop for a few months, I feel that the Club, Tennis Shop and the group of people that I work with are amazing! I have found that working in the Tennis Shop has given me the chance to interact with people while learning office and organizational skills that will help me prepare and be more confident as I start my senior year of high school. The Tennis Shop has a pleasant, friendly atmosphere, management that is easy to communicate with and that makes sure their staff is happy. I appreciate working for management that allows a flexible schedule for students to balance work and classes. The Club has a great reputation and presence in the community and I am proud to tell people I work here!"
Averee Johnson, Tennis Shop Clerk
"When I was 39 years old, I was hit by a car while riding my bike
on a very busy street. I had a concussion and many stitches in my head along
with road burn on the left side of my face. I had to have my 4/5 and 5/6 fused
on my spine.
I thought my tennis career
was over. It was depressing because I love tennis. I was going to sell insurance.
A fellow tennis pro and friend saved me. He was having trouble with his Junior
Development Program and asked me to help him build it back up. I did so. We did
an amazing job and I realized I could still teach and got my confidence
back.
The former Director of Tennis for the Dothan Country Club posted
an opening for a Head Tennis Professional. I interviewed and was offered the
job. My plan was not to stay in Dothan for very long. I was going to move
elsewhere. However, 11 months in, the Tennis Director decided to leave, and I
was asked to be Tennis Director. I said okay! Two months later I met a waitress,
and that lovely woman became my wife. Youngy is now my bride for over 10 years
and my everything. You never know where life will lead you or what God’s plan
is. All I know, is that God is great!
I have been a Director of Tennis for over 27 of my 33 years in my
profession. DCC and the people here have been awesome. The juniors have
accomplished so much and I am so proud to be there coach. My faith is what
leads me in life."
Joseph Perry, Director of Tennis
